Bus arrived at 5am and there was a 5:45 ferry showing on the screen, once people were being let onto the ferry I went up to the woman letting people on, showed her my ticket and said is this my ferry, she looked at my ticket and said no your ferry is at 7am, so I waited until the 7am ferry and got on. Just before the ferry was about to leave a woman came up to me asking my name and then proceeded to tell me I was on the wrong ferry and mine had left at 5:45, I either had to get off the ferry or pay an extra 300baht to stay on, I explained to her that an employee had told me to get on this ferry, and she shrugged her shoulders and said you have to pay 300baht, do you want to go to Koh Tao, I said well I need to thats where I’m going. She got on the phone with someone and asked to see my wristband, after ending the call she said because the ferry has already left you’re going to need to pay the 300baht and I explained again that I had shown an employee my ticket and was told I wasn’t getting on the 5:45 and that mine was at 7am, she shrugged her shoulders. I ended up paying the 300baht as I’m not causing a scene over that amount of money but it’s a joke that I was made to pay because their employees can’t do their jobs properly

The train is old and loud, bring earplugs and an eye mask, if you go in a warm jacket and pants you won't be cold, bring food with you at night. The boat is very fast, but the seats are uncomfortable, bring a hat and sunscreen.
