Train ticket collection was a breeze at Chatuchuk Park Metro Mall. Staff was efficient and friendly. He even reminded me to be at the train station by a certain time. The train from Krung Thep to Trang was the old sleeper train. Definitely there are trade offs as compared to the newer trains that runs to Hatyai or Chiangmai. However the journey was pleasant. Train departed on time and I think it arrived on time too. Train staff were polite and friendly.

All good, just wish we knew more details about the trip (i.e. time for dinner etc.). Also, the plug near our seat was broken but the bus was half empty so we could charge in another seat. Finally, they stop in one of these local gas station, dinner is included in the ticket but in case you don't fancy local food there's no much more to choose from so go prepared. As for the rest, all very kind and blanket and water provided too. The seats are comfortable too.
