If only the onboard toilet were cleaner (strong smell of urine)…

Zoe No blankets provided, bus arrived 2 hours late and not in the correct location. Bus was small and uncomfortable and had a pungent smell. Was waiting 30 minutes+ for the bus to arrive at the dock with no information given and another 30 minutes+ for a second bus after the first stop.

Fernando MAdvertised schedule: depart 14:00, arrive 05:00 next day.
1. Ferry (Thong Sala Pier → Donsak)
Left at 14:35, 35 min late.
Reached Donsak Raja Pier at 17:27, 27 min behind schedule (≈3 h crossing).
2. Minivan transfer (Donsak Pier → Jarinthon Services 2553 rest area in Surat Thani)
Boarded a 10-seat van full of people at 17:38. Some luggage needs to be carried over the people because it doesn't fit in the van trunk.
Arrived at Jarinthon Services 2553 rest area at 18:50 (1 h 12 min ride).
Wait at Jarinthon Services 2553 40-minute layover (18:50–19:30).
Limited, overpriced food and basic toilets; seems chosen for commissions. See google maps reviews.
3. Express bus (Surat Thani → Bangkok)
Departed at 19:30
Older coach: some broken seats and broken footrests, narrow uncomfortable seats, but enough legroom.
Roof-mounted USB ports work but are awkward.
No meal or snack despite ticket description says is provided.
4. Mid-route stop at Che Et Kaolao rest area in Prachuap Khiri Khan
23:55–00:30 (35 min).
Again small, pricey, low-quality options; many better rest areas were bypassed; seems chosen for commissions again. See google maps reviews.
5. Arrival in Bangkok
Reached Ratchadamnoen Road at 05:15, only 15 min late.
Overall: Minor delays are acceptable for a 15-hour trip, but comfort is very basic and rest stops are poor value. Bring your own food and snacks and consider upgrading to the VIP bus for better seats (arrival time appears the same even ticket description says VIP bus arrives at 6:00).
