Don Mueang (formerly spelled as Don Muang) district is located North of Bangkok as one of the 50 districts of the city.

One of two International airports of Thailand is situated within the District. Don Mueang International Airport, formerly Bangkok International Airport was established in 1914 as Royal Thai Airforce before it opened to commercial flights in 1924.

The airport presently accomadates to dosmetic flights and to neighboring destinations such as Singapore, Macau and Vietnam. Don Mueang International Airport is also the main hub for Thai Airasia, Thai Lion Air, Nok Air and Orient Thai Airlines.

Don Muang International Airport to and from Suvarnabhumi International Airport can be travelled by buses no. 554 & 555, or Taxi. Getting a taxi from DMIA will tap an airport surcharge of 50 baht, apart from the meter and tollway fee (if necessary).

Other Interesting places near the airport are Don Mueang Royal Thai Airforce Base and Royal Thai Airforce Museum.
