Andaman Taxis

Andaman Taxi is a private transport operator that offers both four-seat cars and minivans with a capacity for nine passengers. The company is based in Krabi, with services also departing transport hubs in Phuket and Suratthani.

On all routes from Krabi, Phuket and Suratthani, passengers have the option of either departing from or arriving into the city’s airports or the city centre.

From Krabi

Services are available between Krabi International Airport and Krabi town from THB600 for a private car and THB650 for a minivan. From Krabi International Airport you can also visit Suratthani (both the city’s airport and the city centre) with private cars available for THB2,800 and minivans priced at THB3,000 for the two to three hour journey.

Services between Krabi International Airport and Phuket are priced at THB2,500 and THB2,700 for a private car with capacity for four passengers and a minivan respectively.

Hua Hin is one of the most popular beach destinations in the country with the eight hour journey priced at THB10,000 for a private car and THB12,000 for a minivan.

Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi are both accessible from Krabi International Airport using Andaman Taxi, with prices for the two hour trip to Koh Lanta from THB2,400 and THB2,800 for a car and minivan respectively, which includes the ferry ticket. Transfers from Krabi International Airport to Klong Jilad Pier (from where you can then purchase separate tickets to Koh Phi Phi) cost just THB600 for a car and THB650 for a minivan.

From Phuket

Andaman Taxi offers services from both Phuket International Airport and the city centre.

From the airport you can reach both Krabi town and the city’s airport in two hours, with private cars priced at THB2,500 and minivans available for THB2,700.

From Phuket’s airport you can also reach Ranong and Suratthani airports in around three hours with vehicles priced from THB5,000 and THB5,500 respectively.

From Phuket’s town you can hire private vehicles to directly visit all of the destinations above as well. The three hour trip to Krabi is priced from THB2,500 while private cars vehicles can be hired to reach Ranong and Suratthani airports for THB5,300 and THB5,800 respectively, with each journey lasting a minimum of four hours(closer to five hours to reach Ranong).

From Suratthani

Andaman Taxi transfers can be hired from Suratthani to reach either Krabi International Airport or Krabi Town for THB3,800 for a private car and THB4,000 for a minivan, whereas the journey to Phuket takes around four hours with rentals beginning from THB5,500. It is also possible to visit Koh Lanta from Suratthani with vehicles priced at THB6,200 for a car and THB6,500 for a minivan. The journey takes five or six hours each way with the vehicle hire including the cost of a ferry ticket.

These vehicles are of a high quality and tend to be much more comfortable than travelling with other transport operators along these routes. It will certainly feel as though you are travelling in luxury in your own private car as opposed to being cramped on a bus with other tourists.

It is useful being able to arrange your own pick-up as you can tailor this to your schedule so you can avoid needless early starts or wasting hours waiting between connections.

Andaman Taxi is obviously more expensive than travelling with other transport operators and is likely to be out of the price range of many visitors, unless you are sharing the cost of a minivan with a large group in which case it can then be good value for money.

There is a wide range of departure and drop-off points across Krabi that may suit you better than arriving at the airport or in Krabi Town.

Andaman Taxi offers a lot of flexibility as you are able to choose your own departure time which is handy if you need to be at the airport for a certain time or you want to avoid wasting hours of your holiday sitting at the bus station! Although, it is almost certainly too expensive for solo and budget travellers in small groups, the minivan services can be good value if you can share the cost between eight or nine passengers and is a worthwhile option to look into.
