Extremely unsafe journey from Tbilisi to Yerevan on 8 July 2026. During our journey, the driver repeatedly drove at excessive speed on mountain roads and made dangerous overtaking manoeuvres, including near bends with limited visibility. The driver also smoked inside the vehicle and used a mobile phone while driving. This was not a minor comfort issue: we felt that passenger safety was seriously compromised. We have videos from the journey and have submitted a formal complaint to the booking platform. After the trip, we also saw many Google reviews reporting similar safety concerns. That is consistent with our own direct experience. We would not travel with this company again.

The driver insisted on waiting on another vehicle that was his “buddy” it caused us to be nearly 3 hours late from the time estimated by the tickets. The driver did not care about the customers time.

The trip went well. When arriving at Avlabari, I was accompanied to the vehicle. It was a small minivan for 7 persons and enough space for luggage. The driver spoke basic English but well enough. I was in Azerbaïdjan before but had no particular issues crossing the border. The drive in itself was confortable: the road was in good shape, the driving was fast but still acceptable and the risk was measured. If you’re bothered by the driver looking at his phone then just take the train or a flight, that is just how they drive in the region.
