Hoi An Hotels, Hostels and Homesatys

Hoi An is one of the most picturesque cities you could stay in, oozing character and charm in its fusion of cultures. Whether you’re after a French Colonial style experience with old shuttered windows and a balcony in the Old Town, a room with a view at the seafront looking out onto the ocean, or living among the rural rice paddies at a cosy homestay, Hoi An has it all! This UNESCO World Heritage city boasts a range of accommodation to suit every taste and budget, and you’re guaranteed to have an unforgettable stay no matter where you stay.

Old Town

Hoi An’s Old Town is a hot-spot for both budget-friendly backpackers, with dorms as little as USD5, and those with a little more to spend. Its quiet lantern-lit streets, with boutiques and coffee shops galore, mean that sometimes there’s little reason to need to venture far from this historic centre.

Vietnam Backpackers Hoi An hostel, DK’s, along Nguyễn Duy Hiệu, is a popular choice for those who have stayed at its other locations around the country, promising lots of fun activities and friendly, like-minded guests who aren’t afraid to party!

A mid-range option is the Vinh Hung Library Hotel tucked away on Ba Trieu Street. This kitschy hidden gem is a modern but cosy hotel just minutes away from the riverside and the Old Japanese Covered Bridge where you can feast your eyes on Hoi An’s stunning architecture, and then feast your bellies in the delicious restaurants nearby, too.

Beachfront

If you’re more akin to a beach bum than a city dweller, no matter how small the city, the wide-open stretches of the unspoilt Cui Da and An Bang beaches make for an ideal place to stay while visiting Hoi An.

A great mid-range option is Red Flower Cottage Homestay (around USD45 for a private cottage) whose location is not only first-class, a mere stone’s throw from An Bang Beach, but whose legendary hospitality is hard to beat, too.

If you’re looking to spend a little less, Under the Coconut Tree Homestay is a favourite with the laid-back travellers who like its simple bamboo style dorms – but more importantly, its direct access to the beach.

If you really want to pull out the stops, Boutique Hoi An Resort at An Bang beach is one of our favourites for a splurge! See you at the sun loungers…

Rural Rice Paddies

Hoi An really has the best of all worlds; not only does it have a stunning historic centre and beachfront, but it is blessed with verdant rice paddies in the rural areas around the city, too.

For those who want to be more ‘at one with nature’ and experience the local life of Hoi An, Rock Villa homestay is a great place to stay for under USD50 where you can gaze out over the river on one side, and a rice paddy on the other. They also have free bicycle rentals too, to make getting into the Old Town even easier.

If you’re feeling totally tropical, Hoi An Ancient House Village Resort and Spa is set in lush surroundings of countryside and wild gardens where you can enjoy living the high-life at under USD70.

But if you would rather pinch your pennies, Vietnam Backpackers’ most recent venture just opened last year and offers a palm tree-lined pool overlooking the rice paddies with chic, modern dorms for as little as USD8.
