Krabi Town Hotels, Guesthouses and Resorts

If you’ve just stepped off a long flight to Krabi International Airport and want to get some rest and sleep off the jetlag before you set off on your Thai island adventures, do not hesitate to make a stopover in Krabi Town.

Krabi Town itself is used as the gateway to the islands, with the main port running ferries to Koh Phi Phi a few times a day, and journeys further afield to Koh Lanta, as well as other day trip options from smaller piers.

Krabi Town is a historic, provincial, and local town, while Ao Nang – just a 20-minute drive – is another popular destination if you are planning on staying in the mainland a little longer. With new guesthouses, hotels, and hostels popping up every month, you’ll be sure to find something clean, comfortable, and affordable, no matter the budget.

Budget

With hostels galore, Krabi Town is a great place to stay while you work out where you want to go from there. Rooms start on average from THB300 and with speedy wifi everywhere and breakfast usually included (even if its toast and jam), it’s an easy place for those strapped for cash to save as they go.

Those who prefer flashpacking but on a backpacking budget should head to Pak Up, a modern well-designed hostel with large clean and spacious dorms, as well as private rooms. At 87 Uttarakit Rd (corner of Chao Fah Rd), it’s right in the backpacker hub, too.

Just beside it, at 85 Uttarakit Rd, and in the same flashpacker fashion, Your Hostel is another favourite with its plunge pool, urban-style interior, and in-house café and bar, meaning you won’t have to wander far to get a drink. Dorms start from THB280.

Mid-range

One of the newer guesthouses, Siri Krabi, is worth mentioning. Its retro Mediterranean style décor, open layout, and super friendly staff make it a number one choice for those looking for a mid-range option with their standard deluxe double rooms (ensuite) costing just THB800 a night with hot water, AC, and free breakfast. It is located in the square on Pruksa Uthit Rd, the area, which also doubles as a lively market at the weekend.

Lada Krabi Residence is another great place to stay without breaking the bank, with huge rooms at a very decent price. You can select a room with a ‘mountain view’ and free breakfast for just over THB1000 a night. The night market is just 1 minute away, and the Walking Street is only 5 minutes, with numerous dining options nearby, too.

Top end

Dee Andaman Hotel at 45/19 Rattanadilok Rd does everything to exceed expectations with its friendly and accommodating staff (who speak excellent English!), plush four poster beds, and large windowed balconied rooms – not to mention an outdoor pool! You can look to spend up to THB2000 a night if you really want to splash the cash and experience Krabi Town with class.

The crème de la crème of Krabi has to be U Residence Hotel. The décor is second to none in its elegance, with an Asian-European fusion and boutique feel throughout. All rooms come with a balcony where you can sit out and look over the city or the river, and there’s an onsite restaurant with a delicious a la carte menu. Its location on 69, Utarakit Rd, means it also enjoys the selection of a number of restaurants within walking distance, too.
