Top Thailand resorts and eateries get ready to serve Xmas dinner

A number of elite Thai resorts and eateries are getting ready to serve special Christmas meals over the weekend. Visitors to the country can book themselves a festive meal in the main tourist hotspots of Koh Samui, Phuket, Bangkok and Chiang Mai plus other locations.

Thai people are predominantly Buddhist but are hospitable. This innate hospitality has led many to embrace the traditions of Christmas. Tourists will find they are rarely far from a venue on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day at which they can enjoy a festive meal.

Top venues for a Christmas meal include the Twinpalms Resort on Phuket, Aleenta Resort at Phang Nga, Koh Samui’s Ozo Chaweng and Potato Beach Club, and the Avani Atrium on New Petchburi Road in Bangkok. Traditional Christmas roast meats and puddings feature on the menus and are enhanced by the likes of sushi, sashimi, grilled sharkfish and tiramisu.

Prices are reasonable too and there are few with prices above the THB1,500 mark. This compares favourably with the cost of a Christmas meal in a western city and comes with the bonus of warm weather to relax and enjoy it in.

12GO ASIA’s ticket prices are a bargain too and travellers will find they are able to travel twice as far they can in the west for half the price. Our photo of elephants dressed up for Christmas in Ayutthaya was supplied by the Nation.
