Use the Taiwan Rail Pass if you plan to travel a lot. It gives you unlimited travel on Taiwan Railways (not high-speed trains), so you can travel between cities without buying separate tickets 🚆

It’s cheaper than traveling point-to-point if you’re visiting multiple places, like Hualien, Taitung, and Kaohsiung. With a wide range of available rail services, traveling around the five major cities has never been easier! Plus, you avoid queues and the stress of last-minute bookings.

2-Day Flexible Pass 🎫

Pick your first day of travel, then use the second day anytime within 7 days. Not necessarily back-to-back.

3-Day Pass🎫
Pick a start date and ride as much as you want for 3 consecutive days. 🕒One day of travel = midnight to 11:59 PM (Taiwan time).

Taiwan Railpass Coverage

✅ Included:
All trains operated by Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA):
Local trains, Chu-Kuang Express, Tze-Chiang Limited Express, Unlimited rides on the TRA network during the pass's validity

❌ Not Included:
Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR)
Taroko Express and Puyuma Express trains
Alishan Forest Railway and other privately operated lines

How to get and use the Taiwan Rail Pass?

• Buy your pass at 12Go – You’ll get a voucher. It's valid for 90 days from the booking date.
• Pick up your ticket – Show at the station:
  > Voucher number
  > Passport
  > Valid short-term entry (e.g. tourist visa or entry stamp)
• Reserve a seat. We will send you instructions over email.
• At the gate – Show your ticket + passport to the staff to enter.

Taiwan Rail Pass Limitations
Not valid for THSR Business Class.
Only for non-Taiwanese travelers on a short-term stay (under 180 days) or visa-free entry.
Not for residents — if you’re in Taiwan for work, study, or long-term stay, you can’t use this pass.
