The team were nice and the service was convenient. I got the shuttle to momo beach from Alona and on the other side at oslob the team helped me with my luggage and to organise a shared taxi (so split costs) to moalboal
The ferry left over 1 1/2 late. I would not have minded if I did not find out it was because of waiting for pre booked tours that your company does. If you know you are leaving later because of a return whale shark tour you have booked then tell your other custimers so they do not have to sit on the boat for endless hours with no explanation
Uncomfortable seats, 1 tiny boat going back and forth to fill up the ferry. Terrible experience, don’t listen to a “1.5” hour journey - it’s more like 3 hours by time they load and unload passengers on the boat!!!
Pickup did show up on time indicated. Was 45 minutes late. No notification given for extra wait time. We had to phone them to make sure they were coming to pickup. They could have send a message or called as they had all the info. You have to walk thru water to get on and off. Would have been nice to let passagngers know so they can wear proper shows and shorts.
Pick up at Alona Beach was 30 mins late causing us to worry about missing the boat. But the driver was really sweet carrying our luggages. Remember to use water shoes as we need to walk into the water
Staff was very nice and chilled.😎 The only negative was 2 hours wait for a group of travellers (whale sharks watching) to come and join us. Since we tried to take the same ferry one day earlier and it was sold out we were happy to be delayed by 2hours. 🤣 Also I don’t know how many people didn’t even have proper seats and had to sit outside or on the plastic chairs between the seats.
Ferry should start at 12:30, I enterd the ferry at 11:00 but it starts at 13:40, long time to wait, leaving the ferry needs 1 hour, because they have only one small boat for transfer to the beach, at first all the passengers, at the end then the baggage. I did not think that all in all it will take so much time.
From Oslob Blbe aware that the company schedules tours to the whale shark watching, this caused us to be waiting in the boat for more than 2 hours without any correct information on why we where waiting to depart (told us different lies, like tidal water, waiting on coast guard etc.) then over 2 hours after schedule departure a big group of passengers arrived. Then they had to start the shuttle boat and make two trips for all the passengers. Btw. The boat takes 2 hours, not 90 minutes. So in the end was the total delay over 3 hours, and then you have to wait for the luggage.
A neglected beach, without a cafe or waiting room, transporting luggage by sea to the boat required 4-5 attempts until all the passengers boarded the ship, in short, a non-touristy and disrespectful place.
I booked the option with the hotel transfer and texted the operator days before to make sure they would pick me up at the mainroad in Alona but in the end they didn't. I waited for more than half an hour and finally the van passed and didn't stop. I had to go to the port by myself. Their communication is not the best. However, the boat ride was fine and I made it to Oslob. Better don't book the hotel pick up but go directly to the McDonald's if you are in Alona Beach area.
Overall better than I expected. It was a great comfortable ride and you will be getting your feet wet on the Oslob side. You also have to pay for luggage if you have anything over 1 bag. Make sure you buy your ticket online so you will get notifications prior to departure because they will change the time on you for sure.
It was very safe and easy, check in, a tiny boat to the big boat and a comfortable ride as there are few people on the boat. I even had time for a nap.
The trip was cancelled due to "preventive maintenance", received an email the day before so had time to book a different one, hoping for a refund but unclear
Biggest concern - boat was overloaded. Had more people than seating inside. So people were on outside and front of the boat. Real issue though then is people’s luggage as some people massive big bags. A double pile of big bags was then put across the entrance / exit at the front of the boat. Massive safety hazard.
On time, efficient: That is the most important
The sea was calm so no worries about safety
Seats not comfortable. At least there were lots of empty places so we could walk around a bit.
Toilet was awful (clean but always 1cm of water continuously pumped on the floor and empying by a hole). Two generator working non stop at the back. I'm don't know much about ferries but it does look homemade" 😉
Passeports not checked...maybe because we left Siquijor ? (I was surprised)
wish list: A/C and Wifi should be available in the port. Maybe in 20 years :)
Due to changed flight times for the onward journey; I wanted to rebook my return trip to a later boat same day. On the oceanjet site I found this was possible ant a small cost. Unfortunately, 12go.asia instructions in relation to this were totally unclear. This resulted in me NOT being able to change the ticket even if the carrier / operator of the vessel would have made it possible. I do wonder what your value add is in this process.
Not happy about our experience. Company cancelled our boat the day before the trip. Emailed us saying the trip from Oslob to Tagbilaran was changed to 11:30. We weren't ever going to Tagbilaran so I didn't understand why they sent that to me. I had our hotel call them and they said they rerouted all the passengers originaly going to Momo Beach (right by our hotel) to Tagbilaran--20-30 min drive from our hotel. No coverage getting passengers from Tag to Momo either. So we paid full price for a ferry that went somewhere else and then had to pay more money to get to where we originally were planning to go. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS! If you are in the tourism industry you need to provide what people pay for. Fine if you reroute the ferry but state exactly that in the email so there's no confusion and pay for a shuttle to get people from Tag to Momo! That is the right thing to do!
Ferry time was changed (it left two hours earlier than time had booked) with less than 24 hours notice. Also the destination of the ferry changed to a different port than the one booked- this new location was 30 mins away and no transport was offered from the new destination to the original. AVOID THIS FERRY IF YOU CAN.
Majority of passengers arrived 1-2 hrs in advanced but we still left 30 mins late because the boat waited for 10 people who delayed the entire trip. Aweful. Recommend to travel via Tagbilaran port instead - faster, runs on time, and is more comfortable.
