Vietnam airline adds Singapore flight frequencies

A leading Vietnamese low-cost airline has announced it is to expand frequencies for its Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore flights. A statement issued by Vietjet Air said that services on the route would increase from one to two a day in each direction with effect from 30 May 2015.

Flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat Airport for Changi Airport in Singapore at 08:55 and 14:00. Departure times are local and flight durations are 2 hours 5 minutes. The return legs from Changi are scheduled to leave at 13:50 and 18:00.

Vietjet is Vietnam’s fastest growing airline and since its maiden flight at the end of 2011 has expanded to a network that now covers 20 different Asian destinations. Passengers can fly Vietjet to domestic locations including Hue, Da Lat, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc Island.

In addition to Singapore, Vietjet’s international destinations are Siem Reap, Seoul, Vladivostok, Taipei and Bangkok. In keeping with its network expansion programme, the carrier recently said it would be adding more Airbus aircraft to its fleet later this year.
