New List of Top–10 Most Popular Tourist Activities in Asia

TripAdvisor has revealed 'Top–10 Experiences in Asia' list based on their users' reviews. The list mostly includes organized day tours by local providers. Now we know what travellers like to do in Asia!

Best of Ubud Tour with Jungle Swing tops the ranking of the top expereinces. The tour includes visiting UNESCO-listed rice terraces in Ubud, the Monkey Forest and other natural attractions. Join it when on Bali, Indonesia.

The runner up is Xian Evening Food Tour by Tuk-Tuk bringing travelllers to off-the-beaten-track food joints in old Xian, China.

Beijing Hutong Food and Beer tour by tuk-tuk is the third most popular activity in Asia among travellers. Its highlight is eating like a local in the winding alleys of an authentic hutong in China.

Other activities that made it up to the top–10 are:

4. Thai and Akha cooking class in Chiang Mai, Thailand
5. Small-group Hanoi street food tour with a real foodie, Vietnam
6. Small-group Tokyo biking tour, Japan
7. The history of Cu Chi tunnels by luxury boat, Vietnam
8. Full-day small-group tour of Angkor Wat from Siem Reap, Cambodia
9. Krabi sunset cruises, Thailand
10. Dharavi slum small-group tour in Mumbai, India
Out of 10 experiences four are food-oriented. All but two are small-group tours. And finally two are boat cruises. These are three well-pronounced trends of the current tourist market in Asia: small/individual activities; cruises; food.

Interestingly, neither sea/water related activities were mentioned (like snorkelling or swimming with mantas) nor mountain trekking (e.g. Nepal trekking). We are somewhat surprised. And you?
