Indonesia Among World's Most Instagrammable Countries

Indonesia has made it to the list of the most Instagrammable countries in the world. The ranking is based on the popularity of hashtags and analyses of publications of 1.5 million users. A panel of travel experts participated then in the final vote.

According to the survey, the most Instagrammable spots in Indonesia are:

– Hanging Gardens Infinity Pool, Bali
– Tanah Lot, Bali
– Borobudur temple, Java
Uluwatu Temple, Bali
Gili Islands – Mount Bromo, Java
– Prambanan Temple, Java.

We are somewhat surprised not to see Nusa Penida's iconic dinosaur among the hits and  Raja Ampat's striking marine landscapes were not mentioned either.

Top–10 most Instagrammable countries is somewhat surprising, too:

Australia
Hong Kong
Canada
Indonesia
South Africa
Maldives
India
United States
Dubai
Singapore

Thailand is only 14th with most popular spots for taking selfies mainly located around Bangkok, Phuket and Koh Samui. Malaysia is comes the 17th with Sungai Pandan Waterfall being number 1 attraction for Instagram users. China is the 31st, Taiwan – the 34th, the Philippines – the 43rd. No mentioning of amazing temple complexes of Cambodia or Myanmar, and Vietnam – not to ention Laos – did not appear among the leaders.
