The official despatch point for taxis at the airport is on the ground floor between exit Gates 4 and 7. Passengers take queue tickets from automatic dispensers which show the taxi number, the driver’s name and the bay the taxi is waiting in.
Fares are charged according to what is shown on the metre, but there are extra fees for any expressway service tolls and a THB50 Suvarnabhumi Airport surcharge. The airport spokesperson said passengers need to hang on to their queue tickets if they have a complaint about their taxi or taxi-driver so that officials can check the licence number on the database of licensed cabbies.
The new warning about only using licensed and metered taxis at Suvarnabhumi follows an incident in which a passenger got into a taxi and then realised it had no meter. He got out and complained to airport officials. The cabbie, Thinkimo Seesopa, was subsequently blacklisted.
12GO ASIA provides ticketing options for flights to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport to destinations throughout Southeast Asia. These include Koh Samui, Phuket, Phnom Penh and Hanoi.
