The e-visa will be available for citizens of selected nations from early next year. Tourists will summit their applications via the government website and also pay. They will be issued with a confirmation letter bearing a unique reference which they then present at official immigration checkpoints upon arrival.
All the immigration officer has to do is stamp the holder’s passport with an entry permit. Pre-applying for an e-visa will cut down on queuing times at entry points. The service is similar to that currently offered by agencies such as GoVietnamVisa.
The e-visa will be a useful option for those who are not on the list for visa-free entry. Vietnam currently allows citizens of ASEAN bloc nations plus another seven countries including Russia and Japan visa-free entry. Until 30 July 2017, visitors from the UK, Spain, France, Italy and Germany are also allowed visa exempt entry.
People planning on visiting Vietnam in the near future will find the 12GO ASIA advanced travel reservations service a practical choice. We serve locations such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Danang and Sapa.
