Pokemon Go released news of the availability update via its Facebook and Twitter portals over the weekend. Unlike traditional virtual games, Pokemon Go lives up to its name and entices players to get out in the real world to search for imaginary beings.
Although gamers were ecstatic about the Southeast Asian release of the app, officials at Thailand’s Culture and Health ministries were noticeably less than enthusiastic. Health Ministry spokesperson Yongyuth Wongpiromsan said gamers could get addicted and also create problems for members of the public during their al fresco searches.
A Culture Ministry representative noted there was a possibility players might damage historical monuments and temples. Pokemon Go players travelling from Bangkok to the likes of Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Kanchanaburi and Phuket will find 12GO ASIA is the best choice for travel tickets.
