South Korean airline ups frequencies to Nha Trang

The South Korean national airline has announced it is to increase its flight frequencies to Nha Trang. A statement released by Korean Air at the end of last week said it would offer four flights a week to the Vietnamese seaside town with effect from 29 April 2015.

The current timetable sees the carrier fly twice weekly between Seoul’s Incheon Airport and Cam Ranh Airport in Nha Trang. The new schedule will see Korean Air fly to Nha Trang on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Outbound flights from Incheon are scheduled for 20:30 with arrival in Nha Trang at 23:40. Departure times for the return services are at 00:50 with arrival times back in Seoul at 07:55. The airline utilises Boeing 737-900ERs with 159-seat configurations on the route.

Airline industry workers in South Korea say Korean Air is tapping into the increasing popularity of Vietnam among its compatriots. Tourism figures released recently show that more South Koreans than Chinese now visit Vietnam every year.

As well as Nha Trang, Korean Air flies to airports in Vietnam at Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Danang. In total, the airline flies to around 130 airports in 45 countries.
