AirAsia to restart early Phnom Penh flights

Thai AirAsia has released a statement saying it will relaunch early morning Bangkok-Phnom Penh flights next month. Flight FD608 is set to depart at 06:30 from Bangkok’s Don Muang Airport with effect from 15 March 2015.

The outbound flight will touch down at Phnom Penh International Airport 70 minutes later. The return service is scheduled to take off at 08:30 and land back in Bangkok at 09:45. The current afternoon service leaves Don Muang at 15:30 and the return service departs from the Cambodian capital at 17:10.

Announcing the resumption of twice daily Bangkok-Phnom Penh flights, Thai AirAsia CEO Tassapon Bijleveld stated the budget carrier remained committed to providing greater passenger convenience. He added that the flight would also satisfy blossoming demand for travel in the Greater Mekong region of Southeast Asia.

The CEO finished off by saying that the airline would continue to start up extra services wherever demand dictated it. At present, Thai AirAsia operates services out of Don Muang to other Mekong destinations including Siem Reap, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The carrier cancelled its previous early morning flights to Phnom Penh less than two years ago.
