A Ministry of Transport representative told Tran Minh Thinh that he had won free VietJet flights for 2015. The lucky passenger is a steel company manager and he said he was honoured to receive the prize and be the holder of the lucky number.
Mr Thinh arrived on VietJet operated flight number VJ511 from Hanoi. Following him off the aeroplane were Japanese tourist Yasuda Takenori and Vietnamese business traveller Nguyen Thi Thuy Ly. These two travellers were awarded complimentary return trips to Singapore as runners-up prizes.
Da Nang International Airport is Vietnam’s third busiest air gateway and serves the central regions of the country. Da Nang’s new passenger terminal opened on Christmas Day 2011. Annual passenger movements were expected to reach five million a year in 2020. The target was reached early as many carriers have launched new services since 2011.

Vietnam’s Da Nang Airport staged a ceremony to mark the arrival of its five millionth passenger in 2014 on 30 December. The airport celebrated the auspicious arrival of Tran Minh Thinh with flower garlands and a red-carpet ceremony attended by local dignitaries and officials attached to the Transport Ministry.
