Bangkok Airways to Launch Two New Routes from Chiang Mai

Bangkok Airways are expanding their operations in Chiang Mai, Thailand and have announced launch of two new routes from Chiang Mai: a domestic route to Krabi, a popular resort destination in the south of Thailand, and an international route to Luang Prabang, Laos.

Service to Krabi will start on March, 31. It will be one-way operation with no Krabi–Chinag Mai flights planned yet. In April, there will be three flights a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Staring from April, 30, flights from Chiang Mai to Krabi will be operated on a daily bases. Flights will depart Chiang Mai International Airport at noon and reach Krabi International airport at 1.55 pm, thus taking slightly under two hours to complete their journey. The driving distance between the two destinations is 1465 km.

Operations on Chiang MaiLuang Prabang route will start on April, 2. There will be three flights weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The route will be served by a 70-seater aircraft. The departure time from Chiang Mai is 4.30 pm, the arrival time to Luang Prabang is 5.45 pm. In the opposite direction, flights will take off from Luang Prabang at 6.30 pm and land in Chiang Mai at 7.45 pm. The overland distance between Chiang Mai and Luang Prabang is 730 km.
