Nok Air to add numerous extra flights

Thai carrier Nok Air has announced it will increase flight frequencies on a number of its domestic routes. The budget airline says it plans to add flights on eight different routes from its hub at Don Muang Airport in Bangkok.

Most of the extra flights are scheduled to commence on 26 October 2014. The additions will see Nok operate 12 round trip journeys to the northern city of Chiang Mai every day. This represents one extra flight which will leave Don Muang at 10:35 and return at 12:15.

Nok services to Chiang Rai, the other main northern Thai city, will see one extra evening flight in each direction. Daily services to Nan are scheduled to double to four with one flight added to the timetable on 26 October and a second on 8 November.

Timetables for Khon Kaen. Loei, Roi Et and Chumphon will each have one more daily flight. Phrae will see its Nok schedule increase from four times a week to a daily service.

Nok Air is the budget arm of national flag carrier Thai Airways and was launched in 2004. It currently flies more than 20 domestic routes and one international one to Myanmar’s Yangon Airport.
