AirAsia adds another Thai-Chinese route

Thai AirAsia announced this week that it is launching a new route linking southern Thailand and southern China. Flights between the Thai Andaman seaside town of Krabi and Guangzhou are all set to take off on 6 November 2014.

To mark the launch, AirAsia is offering passengers the opportunity of snapping up one of a set number of seats on each flight at the fully inclusive price of THB1,690. The offer is only valid until the weekend and finishes on 21 September.

People buying a ticket for a single journey can travel anytime between 6 November and 24 October 2015. The outward flight from Krabi will leave at 20:45 and land in Guangzhou at 01:30 the next morning. The return leg will see the aircraft take off at 02:20 and arrive back in Krabi at 04:50.

Thai AirAsia CEO Tassapon Bijleveld told media representatives that the new route demonstrated the carrier’s commitment to China. He said that average load factors for the airline’s flights from China had topped the 80 per cent mark between January and August this year.

Thai AirAsia currently operates on 12 routes between Thailand and China. In the case of routes from Bangkok’s Don Muang Airport to Hong Kong and Macau, services run several times a day in each direction.
