New airline route Don Mueang to Lampang

News in Asia

Nok Air starts a cheap service twice daily from Bangkok to Lampang, from October 26th.

Starting October 26th Nok Air will fly to Lampang from Don Mueang airport Bangkok, offering a new convenience from this North Bangkok alternative terminal.

Two flights daily, scheduled for morning and evening will connect this ancient Northern town to the capital enabling travellers to by-pass Chiang Mai and shorten the route. They can now avoid the busy Suvarnabhumi airport.

Lampang has some tourist interest, namely the popular Lampang Elephant Conservatory, reckoned to be one of the nations best. The city has cultural and historic heritage aplenty, including the famed Wat Prathat Lampang, one of the more revered temples of Buddha relics in the country.

The fares are priced from 999 baht one-way, making them significantly cheaper than the other alternative, Bangkok Air, which has three flights daily from Suvarnabhumi airport. Lampang is an hour’s drive from Chiang Mai International Airport.

Train and bus are the other two means of reaching the city by public transport, a journey of 11 or 9 hours respectively.
