Repair work at Suvarnabhumi Airport continues

Since Sunday evening the eastern runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport about 1,200-1,600 metres long is damaged. It is a result of the accident to THAI Airways aircraft.

Since Sunday evening the eastern runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport about 1,200-1,600 metres long is damaged. It is a result of the accident to THAI Airways aircraft, which departed from Guangzhou and skidded off the runway upon landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.

It is expected that Airbus A 330-300 would be taken away from the runway and all repairs would be finished today. However, the eastern runway is still closed and some of the flights can be redirected to the Don Mueang Airport or U-Tapao Airport.
