Pattaya to Hua Hin ferries to run again tomorrow

Marine authorities in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province say Hua Hin to Pattaya ferries should start up again tomorrow. Ferries were cancelled yesterday and today because the Thai Meteorological Department had predicted storms would whip up waves as high as three meters.

Kittiporn Thepyu-amnuay is the head of the country’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Division. Confirming the suspension of the service late on Saturday, he said the operators of the service had agreed the prevailing weather conditions were too dangerous to set sail in.

The Meteorological Department’s warning also stated that high waves would hit both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea shorelines. It cautioned the captains of smaller boats to stay ashore and warned those of larger vessels to proceed with caution during the storms.

12GO ASIA notes that heavy rains are expected from Hua Hin down to Narathiwat on the gulf coast and down as far as Satun and the Malaysian border on the Andaman side. The team also notes people wishing to travel between Pattaya and Hua Hin today can book seats on the 12GO website for Bell Travel’s direct buses.
