Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Siem Reap airports recorded 4.2 million passenger arrivals during the six-month period for this year. Norinda attributed the increase to the number of Chinese tourists choosing holidays in Cambodia and the fact more airlines were adding Sihanoukville to their timetables.
The director said that while arrivals at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap had climbed, Sihanoukville was the driving force behind the ever rising number of international and domestic air passengers. He finished off by saying increasing affluence among both ASEAN and Chinese people was bound to benefit Cambodia’s tourism and air industries.

Aviation authorities in Cambodia have reported a significant increase in the number of passenger arrivals at the nation’s three main airports. Cambodia Airports director Khek Norinda said the combined increase was 23 per cent for the first half of 2017 when compared with the same period for last year.
