2017 international cricket sixes coming to Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai’s 2017 amateur Cricket Sixes tournament will be held at the city’s Gymkhana Club at the beginning of April. The organisers have not so far released a match timetable for the event but say it will be staged over seven days as has been the case in previous years.

Despite the fact the Cricket Sixes is strictly for amateurs, it attracts teams from overseas as well as local teams comprising expats and Thais. Teams are divided into two categories, serious Players’ teams and Gentlemen’s strictly for fun ones, and compete for five different trophies.

The 30th Cricket Sixes will kick off on Sunday the 2 April and finish the following Saturday, the 8 April. Matches are played each day and the semi-finals and finals towards the end of the week. The venue, the Gymkhana Club, is less than two kilometres from Chiang Mai train station and four from the Old City.

Chiang Mai boasts an eclectic schedule of annual happenings which range from cricket tourneys and a balloon fest to the famous Songkran and Loy Krathong festivals. Travelling to Chiang Mai is most convenient when booking tickets with 12GO ASIA.
