Phoenix Voyages starts countdown to Angkor temples endurance run

The organisers of the second edition of the Angkor Temples endurance races have kicked off the official countdown. A Phoenix Voyages representative confirmed the five different categories for Ultra Trail Angkor on 21 January would go ahead as scheduled.

The four race contests are the 16km Temple Run Angkor, the 32km Jungle Trail Angkor, the 64km Bayon Trail Angkor and the 128km Ultra Trail Angkor. The final race is a Nordic-style walk and is the same distance as the Temple Run.

Phoenix Voyages says competitors can enter the Ultra Trail as a four-person relay team. The only stipulation is that they need to join forces for the final three kilometres and cross the finish line as a group.

When the date for the second tourney was announced two months ago, a Phoenix spokesperson said runners would once again have the opportunity of competing with majestic temple ruins and unspoilt landscapes as a stunning backdrop. Entry details and fees can be found on the Temple Run Angkor website.

Angkor Archaeological Park is a sprawling complex and just a few kilometres from the Cambodian town of Siem Reap. 12GO ASIA offers travel ticketing choices from the likes of Sihanoukville, Phnom Penh and Bangkok to Siem Reap.
