12GO ASIA invites travellers to visit the famous rice terraces of Sapa

12GO ASIA recently added lots of new destinations in Vietnam to its travel ticketing portfolio. The expansion enables tourists to pre-book their tickets for travel to Sapa and the world-renowned rice field terraces in the Muong Hoa Valley.

There is no airport or train station at Sapa and the nearest access point is Lao Cai. There are currently two night trains and one day train between Hanoi and Lao Cai. The day service is seating only while the night services provide passengers with a choice of sleeping berths. This allows you to select the desired comfort level and ticket price to suit your needs.

The distance from Lao Cai to Sapa is only 30kms, but the taxi or bus trip can take an hour. This is because the route meanders through the Hoang Lien Son Mountains and around the rice terraces. Arrival in Sapa is akin to visiting the land that time forgot.

The surrounding hills are lined with verdant paddy terraces and dotted with hilltribe villages and low-lying forest. Among the tribal people who occupy the villages are the Hmong and the Red Dao. A visit to Sapa’s market on a Sunday is a must for culture vultures. Trekking and sightseeing trips to the terraces are other activities that should also not be missed.
