Monday is D-Day for Phuket Lobster Festival

Monday sees the start of the month long 2016 Phuket Lobster Festival. Aficionados of fresh seafood can enjoy unique lobster specialities at any of the southern Thai island’s 35 participating restaurants with the added bonus of preferential prices.

Phuket’s Governor, Chamroen Tipyapongtada, presided over a press briefing at Tukapkhao Restaurant last week at which details of the festival were announced. Representatives from most of the participating eateries provided sneak previews of the lobster dishes that would grace their menus for the duration of the festival.

Each of the dishes comprises lobster but is themed on the likes of sushi, spaghetti and pearl. Governor Tipyapongtada noted that the special dishes would be offered all through August and also on the 12th chefs would be enhancing the portfolio in honour of Thai Queen Sirikit’s birthday.

Phuket and other Andaman Sea locations such as Phang Nga and Koh Lanta are among the most popular of Thailand’s holiday destinations. Travellers looking to pre-book tickets to these or other tourism hubs in Thailand will find 12GO ASIA the easiest choice.
