Yupa Panrod explained that the two rallies are themed on Green Tourism and will be staged on 5 June and 4 September 2016. The first edition will follow a 35km route through the pristine landscapes of Loei Province. The start point is in Nong Hin District and the finish line will be in Wang Saphung District.
The second rally for 4 September is scheduled to be staged in Bung Kan Province on an as yet unspecified route. TAT says 300 cyclists have already registered for the first rally next month.
The Isan region of Thailand is one of the nation’s hidden gems and well off the main tourist trail. In Loei alone, Phu Kradueng National Park and Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary are prime attractions popular with Thai visitors. Bung Kan is home to the noted Wat Phu Thok Buddhist temple.

Thai tourist bureau to run second Isan cycle rallies

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has just announced the dates for the second episode of its cycle rallies of Isan. The TAT director for this northeast region of the country said the agency had decided to run the events for a second year as they had proved popular in 2015 and had showcased local attractions.
