Sentosa Tourist Attractions

Despite its small size, the island resort of Sentosa crams its space with attractions and sights that are sure to keep its guests in a permanent state of entertainment. With plenty of museums on offer, culture enthusiasts are sure to have plenty of recreational activities lined up during their stay. If you are around with your kids, do not miss Madame Tussauds, Trick Eye Museum Singapore and the captivating natural history museum, Sentosa Nature Discovery.

Madame Tussauds Museum

Madame Tussauds is a fun way to while away an hour or two. The experience begins with a short boat ride which takes passengers on a simulated tour of Singapore’s 200 years of history. The tour is complete with live actors, special effects, music and beautifully constructed scenes and displays. The boat journey culminates in dropping passengers off at an interactive, glitzy party of wax-constructed A-list celebrities, historic leaders and famous icons through the ages. The statues are openly displayed and are perfect for those wanting to be photographed with an extremely lifelike version of their favourite superstar. Located on 40 Imbiah Road, Madame Tussuads is open from 10:30am to 7:30pm daily with entrance fees of SGD 29 for adults and SGD 19 for children between 3 and 12 years old.

Trick Eye Museum Singapore

Trick Eye Museum Singapore, another unusual and must-visit museum, can be found in Resorts World Sentosa and offers museum-goers unique and fun opportunities to interact with 3-dimensional optical illusions artworks and displays. Adult tickets into the Trick Eye Museum are SGD 25 and children and senior tickets are SGD 20. Discounted family tickets are available too. Operating hours are from 10am to 9pm.

Sentosa Nature Discovery

A peaceful reprieve from the busy amusement parks and bustle of the island, Sentosa Nature Discovery is Sentosa’s tranquil, natural history museum. With its beautiful and informative nature trail as well as its interactive exhibits, it’s a big hit with nature and plant lovers. The museum is open from 9am to 5pm and tickets are charged at SGD 8 per person.

Tiger Sky Tower Sentosa

Roughly 36 floors high, Tiger Sky Tower in Sentosa is the tallest observation tower in all of Singapore. With spectacular panoramic views of the entire island, Singapore’s iconic skyline and even sweeping views as far as Indonesia, this is a perfect way to admire this beautiful edge of the world. Ideally located in the centre of Sentosa in the Imbiah lookout zone, one can come and marvel at the far-reaching views from 9am to 9pm. Photographers will be delighted to learn that this tower offers stunning sunset opportunities. Tickets to the Tiger Sky Tower are SGD 18 for adults and SGD 10 children.

Fort Siloso

Fort Siloso is another fascinating and historical sight for visitors who are interested in learning more about Sentosa Island’s military history and guns used during World War 2. Fort Siloso is also home to Singapore’s biggest collection of war memorabilia and the expansive ocean views from some of the gun positions are well worth the trip. Entry is fee but a guided tour is charged at SGD 20 for non-resident adults and SGD 14 for non-resident children. Local adults pay SGD 14 and local children SGD 10. The fort is open for viewings from 10am to 6pm but last entry is at 5:30pm.

Sentosa Merlion

Unmissable and remarkable is the 37-meter high Sentosa Merlion – a mythical creature with the body of a fish and the head of a lion. It is possible for visitors to climb to the very top of the Merlion, which is 60 meters above sea level, and witness breathtaking, panoramic views from the head of this legendary national symbol. Opening times are between 10am and 8pm and entrance fees are charged at SGD 12 for adults and SGD 9 for a child or senior.

Wings of Time

Saving the best for last is the jaw-dropping ‘Wings of Time’. This is a spectacular 25-minute performance that is not to be missed for anyone in Sentosa. Unique in the entire world, it is the only show which uses the open sea as its permanent stage. Using a massive water screen as its backdrop, world-class, multimedia effects, lasers, pyrotechnics and giant water jets, this captivating story of adventure, bravery and friendship leaves all its viewers amazed and awestruck. ‘The Good Old Days’ is also a must-try restaurant whipping up tasty local dishes and is situated conveniently opposite the ‘The Wings of Time’. Standard seats cost SGD 18 while premium seats cost a little extra at SGD 23. The shows starts nightly from 7:40pm to 8:40pm.
