Thai Smile Becomes Connecting Partner of Star Alliance

Thai Smile, a Thai low-cost regional airline, has become the second Connecting Partner of Star Alliance after Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines which joined the program in May 2017 immediately after the Connecting Partner Model was introduced.

The model actually allows airlines to connect to the Star Alliance network without becoming a member airline.

Currently, Thai Smile operates almost 400 weekly flights to 32 destinations in nine countries and regions. For the Star Alliance this collaboration means the extention of the alliance's network by ten new destinations.

Passengers of certain Star Alliance airlines travelling by connecting flights on a single booking, one of which is operated by Thai Smile, will have a convenience of checking themselves and their baggage through to the final destination.

At the moment, this option is already available for eligible connections between Thai Smile Airways and Austrian, Lufthansa, SWISS, and Thai Airways International.
