Batik Air, an Indonesian scheduled airline and a subsidiary of Lion Air, now offers direct flights between two SEA capitals: Jakarta in Indonesia and Bangkok in Thailand. The service was launched on December, 20, this year.

In Jakarta, Batik Air flies from Jakarta-serving Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, and in Bangkok it operates from Bangkok's second airport, Don Mueang International Airport. According to Batik Air's CEO, Achmad Luthfie, the new route will strengthen the regional connectivity.

The JakartaBangkok route is served on a daily bases by Boeing 737-800NG aircraft accommodating 12 business class seats and 150 economy class seats and Boeing 737-900ER with 12 business class seats and 168 economy class seats.

From Jakarta, flights depart 5.40 pm and arrive to Bangkok at 9 pm. In the opposite direction, the return flights take off at 10 pm and land at 1.25 am the next day. Flight time in either direction is about 3 hours 20 minutes. Both Bangkok and Jakarta are located within the same time zone so there is no time difference between these two cities.

JakartaBangkok flights offer passengers convenient connections with Thai Lion Air flights that serve a number of destinations in Thailand as well as to China, Sri Lanka, Nepal, India and Japan.
