Construction of the 92-floor commercial and residential project is scheduled to start early next year and take about three years. Two other towers within the same project are already at different stages of completion.
The 326-metre Ritz-Carlton Tower will grow up 80 floors and house the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences, the first internationally recognised Residency in Sri Lanka. At the moment the tower is already 42 floors high with 20 percent of work completed. It is scheduled for opening in December 2021.
The second tower, 310 metre high with 77 floors, will be occupied by the JW Marriott Hotel and Residences and is currently 5 percent ready.
The firm behind the project, The One Transworks Square (Pvt) Ltd, got the 'Best Mixed Use Development (Asia)' award at the prestigious PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2019 held in Bangkok earlier this year, beating other 8 nominees from Australia, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines and Myanmar.
