Cochin Port Offers Helicopter Rides to Cruise Passengers

Cochin Port, India, now offers helicopter transfers for cruise tourists. The service is provided by Chipsan Aviation from Willingdon Island in association with the District Tourism Promotion Council, Kerala Tourism and Greenix Village.

Cochin Port remains one of the most popular ports of call for cruise liners in India. Between 2018 and 2019, over four dozens international cruise ships called to the port.

The new helicopter service will operate trips between Cochin, the Jatayu Earth Centre and Munnar. It has already received positive feed back both from tour operators and cruise passengers. On the first day of its operation alone, about 50 passengers took a helicopter ride.

According to the statistics, many cruise passengers are repeated visitors to Cochin, hence to allow them to enhance their experience from visiting the city, new tour itineraries and services are being developed.

Besides helicopter rides, Cochin now offers cruise passengers free mehndi designing at the cruise terminal. Currently, this activity is only available for Azamara Quest passengers but reportedly more programs are on pipe for other cruise lines, too.
