Best Airports to Sleep In 2019 – 6 Out Of 10 Are in Asia

The Guide to Sleeping in Airports website has recently released their annual list of best airports-2019. Six of the best 10 airports in the world are located in Asia – we are not surprised, frankly speaking!

Besides sleepability a wide range of other factors was analysed including cleanliness, availability of food options, services, facilities and things to do, immigration and security facilities, customer service, ease of navigation and comfort – e.g. availability of gate seating and rest zones.

Unsurprisingly, Singapore Changi Airport tops the list for yet another year in a row. This year, the airport added to its portfolio an impressive Jewel complex to enhance passengers experience with a jungle terrace and the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. Free reclining loungers to have a nap are located at airside “Snooze Lounges” inside each terminal.

Seoul Incheon, South Korea, is the runner-up. It conquered the hearts of travellers with fast security queues, helpful staff and free showers among other factors. There are dedicated rest zones with free padded lounges/beds at Seoul Incheon airport.

Helsinki Airport, Finland is the only airport outside Asia that made it to the top-5. It is named one of the most efficient airports with easy navigation in the world. The best place to have a bit of sleep there is a quiet lounge – The Kainuu Lounge – near Gate 31.

The fourth and fifth lines are occupied by two Japanese airports: Tokyo Narita International Airport and Osaka Kansai international Airport. Both are safe, secure and very clean. The former features an overnight rest area complete with foot rests and plenty of padded benches. The latter offers a dedicated sleep area and free blankets distributed to overnight travellers.

Here is the rest of the best 10 airports–2019:
6. Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan
7. Vancouver International Airport, Canada
8. Munich International Airport, Germany
9. Hong Kong International Airport
10. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Netherlands
