Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition On in Chongqing Eling Park

Chongqing Eling Park in Chongqing, in the southwest of China, currently hosts the Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition. Opened on October, 25, the exhibition will last the whole month till November 25. This time the theme of the exhibition is "Chrysanthemum Ocean, Bayu Culture".

Over 70,000 pots of blooming chrysanthemum of 100 varieties are showcased at the exhibition that covers an area of about 1500 square meters. There are four main exhibition areas each with their own unique theme and displays – Ancient Charm among Mountains and Rivers, Fine Chrysanthemum Gathering in Yuzhong, Looking for Friends through High Mountains and Flowing Water, Sichuan Opera Changing Face of National Essence.

Lying in the Eling Mountain to the west of Chongqing City, Eling Park is known as "courteous park". It is home to a great diversity of plant species and offers spectacular views over both the Yangtze River and Jialing River from its recently built Liangjiang Pavilion. Eling Park was founded during the late period of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Originally, it was a private garden. Eling Park is a typical example of Suzhou gardens that feature pavilions, platforms, high buildings, winding paths and corridors, and lotus ponds.
