IndiGo Launches Two Direct Routes to Vietnam

IndiGo, an Indian low-cost airline and India's largest domestic carrier, has announced the launch of its first ever direct flights between India and Vietnam in October this year.

Vietnam will become the fifth Southeast Asian country in the airline's portfolio of regional network after Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Myanmar.

The first route will link Kolkata, the capital of India's West Bengal state and Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The maiden flight is scheduled on October 3. Departure time from Kolkata is 12.35 pm, from Hanoi – 5.55 pm. Flying time is 2h50m.

The second route will be operated since October, 18, 2019 between Kolkata and HCMC. Flights will depart from Kolkata at 10.35 am and from HCMC – at 4.50 pm. Flying time is 3h50m.

Both routes will be served on a daily bases.

Representatives of IndiGo eye Vietnam as one of the most promising destinations in the region with high potential for growth. The airline has already received encouraging feedback on their announcement of the launch of India-Vietnam routes. HCMC is known for its large Buddhist community and IndiGo's new route will allow them to reach the Buddhist circuit in India via Kolkata directly. IndiGo offers quite a number of routes to important Buddhist destinations.
