SilkAir Launches Changghi–Busan Flights

SilkAir, Singapore's full-service regional airline and a wing of Singapore Airlines, has announced the launch of direct flights between Singapore and Busan, South Korea.

The flight duration in either direction is about  6 hours and 30 minutes. Flights are scheduled  four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The route is served by a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. 

These new Korea-bound flights will offer passengers Korean in-flight cuisine featuring some of the most popular Korean dishes like bibimbap (Korean mixed rice), beef japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) and chicken bulgogi and kimchi fried rice. Passengers will be able to enjoy classic Korean flavours during their flight and to ensure an immediate immersion into Korean culture for tourists heading to Busan.

Currently, SilkAir flies to 47 destinations in 17 countries. Busan has become the first South Korean city in SilkAir's network thus marking yet another important milestone for the airline. Now travellers between Korea and Singapore can also enjoy smooth connections in the combined SilkAir and Singapore Airlines network.

Busan is the second most populous city in South Korea with a population of over 3.5 million people. It is a major economic, cultural and educational center of the country. Busan atracts visitors with its beaches, hot springs, nature reserves. A variety of festivals including the city's renowned international film festival are held regularly.
