Window or Aisle? CWT Reveals Business Travellers' Preferences

Which seat do you prefer while travelling by air: a window seat or an aisle seat? A recent CWT report reveals travellers' preferences. CWT, or Carlson Wagonlit Travel, is a company managing business travel, meetings and events for companies, governments and non-governmental organizations.

Almost two thirds of business travellers choose window seats and the number is even higher (up to 71%) if we speak about Asia Pacific. The Americans opt for a window seat in 59% of cases while the Europeans are in between with 65%.

Interestingly, between missing their flight and separating from their luggage, the narrow majority of business travellers would prefer the former. 

54% of business travelers rely on traditional taxis and do not trust ridesharing services like Lyft or Uber when the ground transportation is concerned. The percentage is highly dependent on the region and among all the business travellers it is the Europeans who prefer taxis more than the others (69% compared to 56% of Asian travellers and 37% of American travellers who normally opt for rideshare services).

The survey was conducted between the 29th of January and the 9th of February 2019. Over 2,700 business travellers who travelled for business four or more times in the previous 12 months participated in the survey. Respondents were from the Americas (Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the United States), Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the UK) and Asia Pacific (Australia, China, India, Japan, Singapore).
