Codeshare Agreement Extended between SIA and Garuda Indonesia

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Garuda Indonesia have expanded their codeshare agreement. Now all the flights between Singapore and Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, performed by either ariline are operated under the codesharing agreement.

Each airline operates nine daily flights on this route, and now each flight is codesharing.

The first codesharing agreement between the two carriers was signed in 2010 on flights between Singapore and Denpasar (Bali, Indonesia). Four years later, in 2014, all SingaporeSurabaya flights were added to the agreement. The regional subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, also codeshares on Garuda Indonesia-operated flights to Denpasar and Surabaya, while Garuda Indonesia codeshares on SilkAir-operated flights to ten destinations in its Indonesia network. Together, SIA and Garuda Indonesia operate 175 weekly scheduled services between Singapore and different destination in Indonesia.

Garuda Indonesia is the country's national airline. It is headquartered at Soekarno–Hatta International airport in Tangerang, near Jakarta. It manages a fleet of 140 aircraft and flies to 90 destinations, domestic and international.

Singapore Airlines is Singapore's flag carrier based in Singapore Changi airport. It has a 122 aircraft fleet and serves 64 destinations worldwide.
