Mumbai Intl Airport Awarded with 'Best Airport by Size and Region' Title

The Airport Council International (ACI) World has bee Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) the ‘Best Airport by Size and Region’ in 'Over 40 million passengers' category.

The prestigious award recognizes the airport's excellence in service and customer experience in the Asia-Pacific region. The award ceremony will be held on Bali, Indonesia, between 2 and 5 September later this year.

The Airport Council International (ACI) World is a non-profit organization and the only global trade representative of the world's airport authorities. ACI was established in 1991. Since 2006, ACI gives out the Airport Service Quality Awards (ASQ), based on passenger satisfaction ratings. In total, ACI covers almost a half of all the world's 8.3 billion passenger traffic and as such ASQ award is an important reward for any airport.

Mumbai Airport is the second busiest airport in India, 14th – in Asia and 28th – in the world. Yearly, it handles over 40 million paseengers. This year's ASQ award is the fourth one in a row since 2015.

CSMIA was one of the first airports in the world that introduced completely automated check-in process. It also allows generating boarding pass and baggage tags via ‘Common Use Self Service (CUSS)’ kiosks on the site.
