Pampanga to Host Air Balloon Fests in April

Pampanga, a province on the northern shore of Manila Bay in the Central Luzon region, the Philippines, will host two hot air balloon fesrivals in April. The festivals will strengthen the province's position as the Philippines' prime sports aviation events hub.

On April 5-7, the Lubao International Hot-Air Balloon and Music Festival will take place. The Front Row Hot Air Balloon Festival will follow immediately after, on April 12-14.

The organizers of the latter promised to show the public a "bigger, bolder, busier, and better" hot air balloon event. There will be 15 regular-shaped and five special-shaped balloons. All of the balloons will be tethered and fly between 50 feet to 70 feet high. The public will be offered to experience tethered balloon flights in the morning and afternoon sessions for PHP500. Reportedly, a tethered ballon flight is absolutely safe as balloons are anchored to the chase cars with two or three ropes perventing them from flying away.

It is expected that over 70,000 people will visit the Front Row Hot Air Balloon Festival during the weekend. Besides tethered flights, the program of the festival features musical performances by popular groups and artists.
