Garuda's New Route to Link Jakarta to Tasikmalaya

A new route of the national flagship carrier of Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia, now connects Jakarta to Tasikmalaya. The maiden flight was launched on March, 2.

The route is served three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. ATR 72-600 70-seaters will be used on this route. In Jakarta, flights take off from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at 11 am and In Tasikmalaya, they land in Wiriadinata airport at 12.50 pm. The return flight departs at 2 pm and arrives to the destination at 3 pm. The flying time is one hour. The new route is conveniently scheduled to connect flights from Palembang, South Sumatra, via Halim Perdanakusuma to Tasikmalaya and other cities of Indonesia.

Located in West JavaTasikmalaya is eyed as a destination with good business and tourism potential. Garuda's lauch of the new route is a sign of support of the President’s call for better air connectivity with Tasikmalaya.

Tasikmalaya Regency is a popular tourist destination of West Java. It attracts tourists with several natural beaches including Pantai Cipatujah and Pantai Karang Tawulan, and caves dotting the ocean coastline. There is an abundance of rather accressible natural attractions like waterfalls, rainforests and hot springs in the interior part of the regency as well as several archeological sites and picturesque villages. The city itself is often dubbed 'The City of Thousand Pesantrens' due to a high number of Islamic boarding schools.
