New Pattaya waterpark making a splash

Following its opening earlier in October, Pattaya’s themed waterpark is placing itself firmly among the Thai seaside resort’s top attractions. Cartoon Network Amazone opened on the third of the month and boasts a collection of 30 thrilling rides and amusements.

After the park had been officially opened, Thai Tourism Bureau governor Thawatchai Arunyik stated that it would become a preferred attraction for holidaymakers and another reason to visit Pattaya. It is the first water-park in the country to be themed on international cartoon characters.

The park is a collaboration between Cartoon Network owners Turner International and local developer Amazon Falls. It brings the network’s much-loved cartoon characters such as Ben 10 and the Powerpuff Girls to Thai audiences.

Cartoonival is one of the 10 designated zones at the park and where youngsters can interact with their favourite characters. Live shows bring the characters to life. A big part of the shows is the exciting action stunts and stunning visual effects.

The Riptide Rapids is another highlight and takes visitors on a river adventure that rushes through the Amazonian jungle for more than one kilometre. Cartoon Network Amazone is 15kms south of Pattaya Beach Road and can be reached by bus or taxi.
