Alas, only selected media and invited VIPs will have a chance to appreciate the two civilian helicopters, Ansat and Mi-171A2. Well, but you can have a glimpse of these beasties in a special red, white and blue livery during their demo flights above the Sepang F1 International Circuit.
The Southeast Asia demonstration tour of Russian Helicopters started in China on November, 12, then called to Hanoi in Vietnam, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and U-Tapao airport close to Pattaya in Thailand covering over 4.5 thousand kilometers.
The Ansat is a light, multi-purpose helicopter certified for temperatures ranging between -45 and +50°C. The aircraft has passed high altitudes tests, too, and thus is capable of operating in mountainous areas up to 3,500 meters. It can be used both as a cargo and passenger helicopter with a capacity to accommodate 7 pax, as well as for rescue operations, fire-fighting, and medical and evacuation.
The Mi-171A2 is the latest modification of Mi-8/17 helicopter. It can also be used as a passenger aircraft and is available in transport, passenger, and VIP versions.
