Thai tourist bureau upgrades app for smartphones

The governor of the Thai tourism bureau has announced the successful upgrade of its app for Apple and android smartphones. Thawatchai Arunyik, the director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), says the New Amazing Thailand app is better than its predecessor and offers more functions and more detailed information.

Governor Arunyik said the app had been streamlined to offer up-to-date details of every aspect of travel in Thailand. He continued by saying that anybody who was planning on visiting, or was already in-country, could download the app from the TAT website.

A definite bonus of the app is its ability to display promotional offers on tour packages, special deals and accommodation. The app’s interactive map allows tourists to see how to get to where they want to go while the webcam provides live footage of major hotspots of interest to visitors.

The search option allows for the convenient location of travel information while other great features focus on social media. Travellers can update the app to show their own real-time locations as well as link to Twitter and Facebook.
