While Boracay island is ready to welcome tourists again starting from October, 26th, it will accept only limited number of guests per day and all big parties like the annual La Boracay which used to take place there every May will be banned.
Though the tourist presence allowance on Boracay island is set to 19,215 visitors a day what is in fact not so few, if other major tourist destinations set similar limits, it may potentially make a negative impact on the whole tourism industry of the archipelago. It has not yet been offcially announced which destinations will be next on the list, but the Tourism Secretary has mentioned that El Nido, La Union and Panglao are being considered among the others.
Famous for its white-sand beaches, El Nido is the gateway to the Palawan's star attraction, the stunning Bacuit Archipelago. La Union, sitting on the western coast of the northern part of Luzon attracts surfing crowd and boasts stunning black sand beaches. A small island off Bohol, Panglao is a world class diving destination.
